Craniosacral therapy for babies

Birth is a remarkable passage — for baby as much as mother. Even an uncomplicated birth can leave a baby holding tension in their skull, neck and digestive system. Craniosacral therapy uses exquisitely gentle touch to help release that tension, helping your baby settle, feed and sleep more easily.

How it helps

A different kind of change, one that begins with safety.

Release

Ease birth-related tension

The compression and rotation of birth can shape a baby's soft skull. Light touch encourages the bones and membranes to find ease.

Settle

Calm an unsettled system

Many 'colicky' or refluxy babies are simply over-stimulated. Sessions help their nervous system find calm.

Support

Feeding, sleep and digestion

Releasing tension in the jaw and neck can improve latch and feeding; calm in the system often brings longer stretches of sleep.

You may recognise

If any of this feels familiar, this work is for you.

  • Persistent crying or distress, especially in the evenings
  • Reflux, possetting or apparent colic
  • Difficulty latching, or a preference for one side when feeding
  • Restless, broken sleep or difficulty settling
  • A flattened area on the head (plagiocephaly)
  • Tension visible in the neck, jaw or body

What to expect

Gentle, fully clothed, and led entirely by you.

Treatment for babies uses a touch no heavier than the weight of a coin. Your baby can be held, fed or settled during the session — there is no need for them to lie still. Most babies become very relaxed, and many sleep. Sessions can begin from the early weeks after birth.

You don't have to carry this alone.

Your first step doesn't need to be dramatic. It can begin with a quiet, pressure-free conversation.
