Craniosacral therapy in pregnancy

Pregnancy asks a great deal of the body and the nervous system. Craniosacral therapy offers a gentle, deeply settling form of support at every stage — easing physical strain, quieting a constant background hum of anxiety, and helping you feel at home in a body that is changing quickly.

How it helps

A different kind of change, one that begins with safety.

Ease

Relieve the physical toll

Soft touch releases tension in the lower back, pelvis and hips, easing the aches that build as your centre of gravity shifts.

Settle

Calm the background anxiety

Many women arrive in a state of low-grade alert. Sessions help your nervous system downshift into rest, which can support better sleep and a steadier mood.

Prepare

Prepare for birth

A regulated, relaxed body tends to labour more efficiently. Sessions in the third trimester can help your pelvis and tissues feel more balanced and ready.

You may recognise

If any of this feels familiar, this work is for you.

  • Lower back, pelvic or hip pain that builds as you grow
  • Difficulty switching off, or racing thoughts at night
  • A sense that your body is 'bracing' or holding on
  • Tiredness that rest doesn't seem to fix
  • Anxiety about birth or the transition to motherhood
  • A feeling of disconnection from your changing body

What to expect

Gentle, fully clothed, and led entirely by you.

Sessions are gentle and fully clothed, usually performed while you lie on your side or reclined with cushions for support. The touch is so light that many women fall asleep. Treatment is safe at every stage of pregnancy and can be particularly supportive in the third trimester and as you approach your due date.

You don't have to carry this alone.

Your first step doesn't need to be dramatic. It can begin with a quiet, pressure-free conversation.
